Beornus is an extinct genus of periptychid 'condylarth' that lived in North America during the Paleocene.
Beornus was named in 2021 after Beorn, a character from The Hobbit known for his massive size due to the inflation of the molar and premolar in comparison to Conacodon delphae. It is known from UCM locality 2011035 of the China Butte Member, Fort Union formation, where it was contemporaneous with Maiorana noctiluca, Ampliconis antoni and Conacodon harbourae. It forms a polytomy with Mithrandir gillianus and Hemithlaeus kowalevskianus. It was about the size of a marmot or house cat.
