IVPP V 17959 (nicknamed 'Ian' by Joschua Knüppe) is an undescribed genus of Wukongopterid that lived in China during the Middle/Late Jurassic.
Description[]
Ian consists of a partial, 3D skeleton comprising almost all of the skull, fragments of both wing bones, although the left wing is far more complete, part of a leg, as well as a few associated vertebrae. The skull was 14.5 cm long and possesses a rounded crest at the end of its snout. The specific crest shape is different from all other known Wukongopterids.
