Leshansaurus is an extinct genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in China during the Late Jurassic.
Description[]
The femur is 62 centimeters long anf the tibia is 52 centimeters long. Autapomorphies include: a sharp central ridge on the supraoccipital, elongate frontals 2.86x as long as their width, slender basipterygoid projections on the basisphenoid, the lower braincase having a bone, a horseshoe-shaped in cross section atlas intercentrum, slender diapophyses, thin dorsal and sacral spines, a clear keel at the bottom of the sacrals and an ilium with an inner side that bears a ridge along the edge of the joint. Li et al. placed it in Sinraptoridae, but did not provide a cladogram. Matthew Carrano (2012) found it as an afrovenatorine sister to Piveteausaurus.
