Titanosaurus is a dubious genus of titanosaurs that lived in India during the Late Cretaceous.
History[]
The holotype Titanosaurus fossils were found in 1828, but only named in 1877. Titanosaurus means "titanic lizard", after the Titans, prominent deities in Greek mythology.
Description[]
The genus is often treated as a wastebasket taxon due to the abundance of discarded species, but is now classified as a nomen dubium.
